About Course

This 5-day classroom training is designed for engineers with prior experience in Eclipse reservoir simulation who are new to Petrel RE software. The course provides both theoretical foundations and hands-on practice, covering the integration of Eclipse simulation data with Petrel RE workflows. Participants will learn to set up and manage simulation cases, perform history matching, run prediction strategies, and analyze results using Petrel’s visualization tools.

Through guided exercises and case studies, engineers will gain practical skills in building and running simulation models, importing key data (SCAL, PVT, production history, VFP tables), and performing detailed results interpretation. Participants are encouraged to bring their own Eclipse projects for classroom discussion and practice.

By the end of the course, attendees will be able to confidently use Petrel RE for reservoir simulation, history matching, forecasting, and result analysis

This course is scheduled on 2-6 November 2025 in Dubai, UAE.

Understand the fundamentals of reservoir simulation and Petrel RE software.
Compare Petrel RE visualization with Eclipse Office results.
Set up and configure Petrel RE simulation cases.
Import and manage rock physics (SCAL), fluid models (PVT), and production history data.
Create reservoir strategies for history matching and prediction.
Adjust history matching parameters to improve model accuracy.
Import and apply VFP tables, limits, and constraints in simulation models.
Run simulation cases and generate output vectors, maps, and results.
Analyze initialization results, simulation outputs, and performance trends.
