Overview of Disability Discrimination Policy: 

NEXUS OFS is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment where every individual is treated fairly, with dignity and respect, regardless of disability. This policy outlines how we uphold the principles of equality, ensuring that no one is discriminated against based on their disability. It aims to prevent and address disability discrimination and to provide equal opportunities to employees, trainees, and all individuals who interact with our business. 

The policy applies to all aspects of employment, training, and services provided by NEXUS OFS, ensuring that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodations and support.

At NEXUS OFS, we are dedicated to preventing discrimination based on disability and promoting inclusivity within our company. We recognize that individuals with disabilities face unique challenges, and we are committed to providing equal opportunities, ensuring our workplace and services are accessible, and supporting employees, trainees, and other stakeholders who may have disabilities. 

We are committed to upholding the UAE Federal Law No. 29 of 2006, concerning the rights of people with disabilities, and the UAE Federal Law No. 2 of 2019, which requires organizations to provide appropriate accommodations for employees with disabilities. Our company strives to comply with these laws while promoting a culture of acceptance and equality. 

The Disability Discrimination Objectives of the Organization: 

The objectives of NEXUS OFS’s Disability Discrimination Policy are as follows: 

    • To ensure that all employees and stakeholders, regardless of disability, have access to equal opportunities in recruitment, career progression, training, and services. 
    • To prevent any form of disability discrimination in the workplace and to actively promote inclusivity. 
    • To provide reasonable adjustments for employees or trainees with disabilities to ensure they can perform their roles or access training effectively. 
    • To raise awareness and educate our colleagues about disability-related issues and promote a positive, supportive, and non-discriminatory culture within the organization. 
    • To comply with all relevant legislation and regulations concerning disability rights in the UAE.

How NEXUS OFS Upholds the Objectives: 

NEXUS OFS commits to fulfilling these objectives through the following actions: 

    • Reasonable Adjustments: We will make reasonable adjustments to ensure employees with disabilities can perform their duties. This may include providing assistive technology, modifying workstations, adjusting work hours, or offering additional training. 
    • Accessibility: We ensure that our facilities, including digital platforms and physical workspaces, are accessible to all employees and trainees, including those with mobility impairments or other disabilities. 
    • Training and Awareness: NEXUS OFS will provide regular training and resources on disability awareness for all staff, managers, and trainees. This will help to foster understanding and ensure all employees are aware of how to support colleagues with disabilities. 
    • Equal Opportunity in Recruitment: Our recruitment process is designed to be inclusive. We will ensure that job applicants with disabilities are given fair consideration and the necessary adjustments are made during the recruitment process. 
    • Regular Reviews: We will regularly review and update our Disability Discrimination Policy to ensure its effectiveness and compliance with UAE law. 

In the UAE, disability discrimination is governed by the following key pieces of legislation: 

    • UAE Federal Law No. 29 of 2006 on the Rights of People with Disabilities: This law provides for the rights of people with disabilities in various spheres, including employment, education, and accessibility.

    • UAE Federal Law No. 2 of 2019 concerning the Protection of the Rights of People with Disabilities: This law mandates that employers provide reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities to ensure equal access to work opportunities.

These laws outline the rights of people with disabilities, emphasizing the need for organizations to provide equal access to services, training, and employment opportunities, and to make reasonable adjustments in the workplace to support individuals with disabilities. 

Communications and Colleague Signature: 

To ensure the effectiveness of this policy, NEXUS OFS will communicate the Disability Discrimination Policy to all employees, trainees, and stakeholders in a clear and accessible manner. This will be done through: 

    • Distribution of the policy during the onboarding process. 
    • Posting the policy on internal noticeboards and the company’s website for easy access. 
    • Regular communication via emails or meetings regarding updates or changes to the policy. 

All employees and trainees are required to acknowledge receipt and understanding of this policy. They will sign a declaration confirming they have read and understood the policy and agree to uphold its principles.
