Disruptive Delegates Discrimination Policy

This policy is designed to ensure that every participant can benefit from our training programs in a professional and supportive atmosphere. NEXUS OFS takes pride in fostering an inclusive environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.

  1. Introduction:

At NEXUS OFS, we are committed to providing an inclusive, respectful, and productive learning environment for all delegates. Disruptive or discriminatory behavior, whether intentional or unintentional, can hinder the learning experience and impact the safety and well-being of other participants. This policy outlines how we handle such behaviors, ensuring that all individuals are treated fairly and with respect during training sessions.

  1. Examples of disruptive or disinterested behavior to look out for:

Disruptive or disinterested behavior can manifest in various ways and may include but is not limited to:

    • Consistently interrupting others during discussions or lectures.
    • Refusing to engage with course content, activities, or assessments.
    • Unwillingness to participate in group work or collaborative exercises.
    • Displaying disrespectful language or conduct towards trainers, colleagues, or fellow delegates.
    • Frequent late arrivals or early departures from the training sessions without prior notice.
    • Engaging in non-relevant conversations or distractions, such as using mobile phones or other devices during training.
    • Bullying, harassment, or discriminatory behavior, including inappropriate comments, jokes, or gestures towards others based on race, gender, nationality, disability, or other personal characteristics.

These behaviors disrupt the learning environment and may lead to serious consequences if left unaddressed.

  1. Advice on how to manage such behaviour:

At NEXUS OFS, we encourage an open, respectful, and constructive approach to managing disruptive or disinterested behavior. Here are the steps we follow:

    • Initial Discussion: If a delegate exhibits disruptive behavior, trainers will initially address the issue in a private and respectful manner, outlining the behavior observed and providing an opportunity for the delegate to explain or correct their actions.
    • Clear Expectations: We ensure all delegates are aware of our expectations regarding behavior and participation at the start of the training. This includes a reminder of the importance of mutual respect, focus, and engagement.
    • Ongoing Support: In cases where behavior persists, NEXUS OFS will offer additional support to help delegates re-engage with the course, including one-on-one coaching or recommendations for further development.
    • Formal Action: If disruptive behavior continues despite multiple attempts to address it, NEXUS OFS reserves the right to take formal action, which may include suspension or removal from the course, in line with our code of conduct and disciplinary procedures.
    • Non-Discrimination: It is important to note that any behavior deemed disruptive or discriminatory will not be tolerated, and the individual will be given fair and respectful treatment throughout the process.
