Nexus Wells Internship Program

The Nexus OFS Online Wells Internship Program is a structured, intensive program designed to help students understand key aspects of well engineering from the perspective of major oil and gas companies and operators. It covers essential concepts in drilling, well completion, well integrity, and interventions, providing participants with practical insights and industry knowledge. The program equips students with clarity on the subject and helps them make informed career decisions in the oil and gas sector.

Well Completion Engineering

Learn different well completion types, equipment and operational methods.

Well Integrity Engineering

Discover Well Integrity Management process and methods to identify, troubleshoot and managing risks.

Well Workover Engineering

Develop essential knowldge and become aware about essentials skills to become professional workover engineer.

Module 1: Well Completion Engineering

In the Well Completion module of the Nexus OFS Online Wells Internship Program, students will learn key completion terminology, equipment functions, and how different components fit into a well. They will gain skills in reading well schematics and understanding basic calculations related to tubing size, flow rates, and pressure drops. The module also covers completion fluids, their impact on well performance, and an introduction to different completion types, including open-hole, cased-hole, and multi-zone completions. By the end, students will have a clear foundational understanding of well completion concepts and their applications in the oil and gas industry.

Module 2: Well Integrity Engineering

In the Well Integrity module of the Nexus OFS Online Wells Internship Program, students will learn the fundamentals of well integrity, including key industry standards and best practices. They will explore real-world well integrity incidents, investigation methods, and how failures are analyzed to prevent future risks. The module covers techniques for identifying and troubleshooting well integrity anomalies, understanding annulus operating limits, and implementing effective maintenance strategies. By the end of this module, students will have a solid foundation in well integrity management and its critical role in ensuring safe and reliable well operations.

Module 3: Well Workover Engineering

In the Well Worker module of the Nexus OFS Online Wells Internship Program, students will learn about the roles and responsibilities of professionals involved in well operations, including drilling, completion, intervention, and integrity engineers. They will explore different well intervention techniques such as slickline, e-line, and coiled tubing, as well as methods for well repair and maintenance. The module also covers well abandonment procedures, industry safety practices, and communication protocols at the wellsite. By the end of this module, students will have a clear understanding of wellsite operations, intervention techniques, and career opportunities in the oil and gas industry.
