About Course

This 1-hour awareness-level session introduces participants to the fundamental differences, advantages, and limitations of three key reservoir simulation tools: ECLIPSE, INTERSECT, and Petrel. Aimed at early-career professionals, non-specialist engineers, and technical managers, the session provides a high-level understanding of how these tools are used in reservoir modeling and decision-making.

Participants will gain insight into:

  • The purpose and role of each software in the reservoir engineering workflow

  • Key strengths and use cases of ECLIPSE (black oil & compositional), INTERSECT (high-resolution, complex simulation), and Petrel (model integration and visualization)

  • Common limitations, data requirements, and integration challenges

  • When and why companies choose one platform over another

No prior simulation experience is required. This session is designed to enhance cross-disciplinary understanding and support better collaboration between geoscientists, engineers, and project managers in subsurface teams.

Live session is scheduled on  28-Aug-2025 at 6pm Dubai time.
